Position Summary
  • The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Hillsborough Community College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to join our faculty as a tenure-track instructor.
  • The Department seeks a strong scholar-practitioner who will share faculty enthusiasm for excellence in undergraduate teaching, service to the campus and broader, college-wide communities, and dedication to community partnerships within the region.
  • This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic academic division and to contribute to the development of student success.

Required Qualifications:

(1) at least a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of Criminal Justice, Criminology, Law, Law Enforcement/Corrections, Law Enforcement/Corrections related field, Homeland Security or Crime Scene/Forensics, or
(2) a Juris Doctorate degree.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
Prefer applicants with:
  • 1-3 years of teaching experience in higher education, with a preference for teaching in a community college setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise and industry experience in television production, radio broadcasting, film production, editing, storyboarding, and technical skills associated with video production.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices in broadcasting and film production.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and technical skills to students with varying levels of experience.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in scholarly activities and contribute to the academic community.
 
Pay Rate:
A faculty member shall be assigned to the appropriate salary grade based on the contract with the faculty union.

Grade 2: Master’s Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the field $49,922.71
Grade 2+: Master’s Degree with 30 graduate semester hours in the field $52,479.32
Grade 1: Earned Doctor in major field $55,037.06
