Department OverviewMotorola's Access Control Division's (previously OpenPath) mission is to improve your workday with smart office technology at your front door. We are looking for candidates who can help us build, scale and innovate as we develop our industry leading platform for access control and office automation. We are looking for strong technical talent to join us as we build, scale and innovatively develop our industry leading platform for access control and office automation. Strong analytical and software skills are a must in order to join our team, and we are particularly seeking candidates with experience and skills in multiple technologies, in order to contribute broadly to our team-centric approach to product development.

Our software engineering team is responsible for designing, development, coding, testing, research, programming and documentation for software systems, applications and/or operating systems in conjunction with equipment designers and/or hardware developers.

An ideal candidate will be passionate about problem solving, will look to automation to address issues, and will ultimately envision solutions to the next level.

Responsibilities:

  • Building tools and data pipelines for all stages of development including, data collection, model training and evaluation, deployment and scaling, real world testing and validation.

  • Optimizing algorithms for real-time environments and environments with limited computational resources (GPU, CPU, and memory) on various architectures of hardware.

  • Working as a part of software engineering team to build and maintain AI products along with product management, QA, and customer support team

  • Taking tech leadership roles to address complex problems and help the team to build solutions for them

  • Conduct research on cutting edge areas of Machine Learning, including computer vision, NLP, etc.

  • Reviewing relevant papers on relevant projects and present them to the team

  • Generate patents and/or potentially academic publications on algorithms related to our solutions and products

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree (MSc or PhD) in CS or a relevant field.

  • 2+ years industry experience working as a Machine Learning Engineer or Software Engineer with relevant products and services.

  • Expert knowledge of C++ and/or Python

  • Experience in building speech recognition and/or natural language processing systems.

  • Knowledge in audio digital signal processing and speech processing is a plus.

  • Familiarity with AWS or other cloud services

The base salary range for this position in California is $140,000 - $180,000 depending on experience.
