Job Description:

The main purpose of the Post-doctoral role is to support, plan, and conduct original research while working with faculty, staff, as well as the graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Toledo. The postdoctoral fellow carries out research and conducts experiments in close collaboration with Principal Investigators and Faculty at the University of Toledo. Typically, this position carries out research in the field of liver fibrosis and pancreatic cancer and participates in preparation of technical reports and papers related to research, and collaborates with other members of the faculty research group engaged in related research. May also participate in instructional activities in mentoring and supervising undergraduate and graduate students engaged in research activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery, or equivalent is required
Good written and verbal communication skills required
Effective Decision-making and problem-solving skills required.
Hands on experience in in-vivo dosing techniques such as oral gavage, i.p. injection, i.v. injection, and blood collection is mandatory.
Expertise in molecular biology techniques qRT-PCR, animal genotyping, Western blot analysis and ELISA, and immunohistochemical analysis is required.
Proficient analytic abilities accompanied by a robust research foundation, substantiated by scholarly publications, will be mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to work cooperatively with a multidisciplinary research team
Ability to perform experiments with initiative and independence, under general direction from the Principal Investigator.
Sound knowledge of best practices in research for liver fibrosis, HCC, and pancreatic cancer.
Must be detail oriented, and highly organized with the ability to keep accurate records.
Hands on experience with studies and/or animal studies related to small molecule drugs combination treatment in vitro and in-vivo.
