The Institute of Metabolic Disorders (www.institute-metabolic-disorders.com) at Medical Diagnostics Laboratories (www.mdlab.com) has an opening for a PhD level scientist. The scientist hired will work as part of a dynamic team identifying high throughput screening targets involved in progressing the inflammatory response in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
A working expertise in mammalian cell culture, biochemical analyses of protein and mRNA expression, and gene manipulation methods is required.
Experience in assay development and high throughput screening would be a plus, but is not necessary.
The successful applicant will become a core member of a highly interactive team of junior and senior scientists who bring with them expertise in lipid biology and immunology, drug-discovery, pharmacology, assay development, and murine models of inflammation and obesity-dependent liver disease.
This position will give the scientist hired the opportunity to be in on the ground floor of target identification and characterization, while working with a team of experienced scientists driving projects through initial hit identification, hit to lead medicinal chemistry, and in vivo murine efficacy studies.
