Job Description
POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE
Plasma Science and Fusion Center (PSFC), to conduct research in the area of pulsed-power driven electro-hydraulic rock fracturing. The research is focused on delivering a new pulsed-power device which will be used by collaborators at MIT in support of an ARPA-E OPEN award led by Eden Geopower. Will design, construct, commission, and operate a new compact pulsed-power device operating at high voltages and currents. This pulser will be used to study the response of rock samples to shock waves launched by rapid ohmic heating inside conductive proppants. Will work as part of a team to deliver results on a tight timeline and be expected to make original research contributions to the PSFC program, produce work for publication, and present work at scientific conferences.
