Essential Functions (Job Duties)
Develop toward independent academic research career through publication and presentation of advancements in bioinformatic analyses of pharmacogenomic and environmental health projects
Facilitate the development of preclinical and clinical research projects in the area of genome sciences.
Meet with internal and external members of the research community to ensure they understand available services and to identify and provided additional needed resources.
Provide technical expertise and advice to faculty for project development in genome sciences.
Provide leadership and direction to staff in the Genomics Sciences Core Resource Center including hiring, performance management and mentoring, training and termination.
Manage the budget of the Genomics Sciences Core Resource Center. Develop and oversee operating budget and increase revenues for services provided to internal and external customers.
Provide assistance to management and research teams in the preparation of individual and programmatic grants and contracts involving genome sciences and services
Manage operation and efficient use of all core instrumentation and related enabling technology platforms
Develop and implement strategic plan for genomic based resource development in the sciences to assure program sustainability and leading edge services
Oversee information posted at the Wayne State Genomic Sciences Core Resource Center website.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Unique Duties
Qualifications
Education:
PhD in biomedical field with postdoctoral or fellowship training in bioinformatics and/or pharmacogenomics.
Experience:
Published expertise and productivity in team science projects.
