The Department of English and Humanities at DCC invites applications for part-time faculty in English Composition.
The department is searching for instructors for the Fall 2025 semester to teach the following courses:
- ENG 101 - Composition I (3 lecture contact hours/week)
- ENG 003 - Composition I Module (3 lecture contact hours/week)
Courses are in-person at the main campus in Poughkeepsie and at DCC @ Fishkill. Courses are offered during the day. Part-time faculty teach assigned class material in accordance with learning objectives developed by the department.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master of Arts in English or related field
- Official academic transcripts required upon hire.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching at the college level, particularly at a community college.
- Experience working with developmental writers.
- A commitment to diversity and an understanding of how diversity impacts learning and instruction.
- Experience and familiarity with a learning management system (LMS) such as Brightspace, Blackboard, Canvas, or Moodle.
Additional Information:
Professional Letters of Reference required.
Working Conditions:
- The performance of this work is primarily in-person and on-site.
- Courses are held at the main campus in Poughkeepsie and at DCC @ Fishkill.
- Courses are held during the day.
Classification:
Dutchess United Educators (DUE), Part-Time Educator
Salary at negotiated rate, starting at:
$1,399 per lecture contact hour (Instructor, Step 1)
