Human Resources & Communication Specialist
The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a dynamic and experienced The Human Resources & Communication Specialist to join our team. As the Human Resources & Communication Specialist, you will play a vital role in overseeing and managing the human resources and communication functions of Health Science Information Technology. The candidate must be able to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization, respond to client feedback, and relate to them with respect, courtesy, and professionalism.
Develop and implement human resource policies and procedures including employee retention initiates
Performs routine and moderately complex human resource operations involving the recruitment, hiring, and retention with the guidance of the Assistant Director of Finance and Personnel
Manage performance evaluations and provide guidance on employee development
Work with Financial team to reconcile HSRDC accounts and supervise the Financial and Administrator Coordinator on HSRDC SPARS.
Coordinates Badge Access within the HSIT department
Take a lead role in curating and updating content on the Departmental Website and also establishing a strong social media presence for the department
Work with the Financial Coordinator a departmental quarterly newsletter
Cultivate and enhance the department’s brand internally and externally, ensuring consistent messaging to strengthen its reputation.
Complete all communications necessary for the HSIT email address. Work with different areas for communication needs.
Oversees and directs human resources activities for department personnel, faculty, staff, post-doctoral students, graduate students, and undergraduate students/work study. Acts as consultant to managers for personnel related functions. Ensures personnel utilization is carried out in accordance with department, school, and University policies and enforces departmental systems and procedures. Performs administrative functions.
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
