The History Department and the Arctic & Northern Studies Program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks seek to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in History or a closely related field with teaching experience and a promising research agenda.

The Department of History in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Alaska Fairbanks is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-track position with expertise in the history of Alaska, the Circumpolar North, and the United States.
The responsibilities of this position support the University of Alaska Fairbanks's tripartite mission of teaching, research, and service. Teaching responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in History and undergraduate and graduate courses in the Arctic and Northern Studies program and advising students both undergraduate and graduate students.

Teaching experience at the college/university level preferred
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
PhD (minimum ABD) in History or a closely related field at time of appointment
Expertise in the history of Alaska and the Circumpolar North.
