Research is conducted in normal and transgenic mouse models, addressing the interaction of hormones (testosterone, estrogen, progesterone) and neuropeptides (kisspeptin, neurokinin B, dynorphin, GnRH) in coordinating the brain's regulation of reproductive status. Lab techniques include a combination of in vivo mouse work and bench work (in situ hybridization and RNAscope, qRT PCR, immunohistochemistry, hormone ELISAs, brain histology and neuroanatomy, microscopy, viral vectors, RNAseq, etc.).
