Department: Neuroscience Center
School/Division: Medical School
Position Summary: The Neuroscience Center at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in New Orleans is seeking motivated scientists with PhD or medical doctor (MD) degree with expertise in polymer chemistry, biological, medical, or biochemical field to fill Postdoctoral Fellow and Visiting Scholar positions from now to coming years.
Our laboratory studies polymer chemistry (nanoparticles and hydrogels), regenerative medicine, stem cell biology, burn injury, wound healing impaired by diabetes or aging, skin biology / dermatology, peripheral neuropathy, pain, neuro-degeneration, inflammation, leukocyte biology, and pharmacology using animal and cell-culture models and comprehensive state-of-art facilities for cellular and molecular biology and neuroscience as well as mass spectrometry. We also study Alzheimer’s disease.
Our goal is to identify mechanisms underpinning the chronic wound healing, inflammation, neuropathy, neuro-degeneration, and develop therapeutic and diagnostic leads and polymer chemistry to treat these diseases.
