The Opportunity

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applicants for three (3) 9-month, full time, non-tenure earning instructor, lecturer, or associate lecturer positions with an anticipated start date of December 21, 2023. The selected candidates will teach Computer Science and Information Technology courses. This will be a full-time academic load, which consists of 7 courses per academic year. The courses may include various topics in our undergraduate Computer Science and Information Technology programs. We are especially interested in applicants capable of teaching in some of the following areas: cybersecurity, networking, digital forensics, data science programming, data management technologies, discrete mathematics, computer science theory, algorithms, and programming at all levels. Other responsibilities include holding office hours, conducting required academic performance assessments, and development of instructional content for course enhancement.

A supplemental summer appointment may be made following an assessment of performance and the teaching needs of the program.

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned master’s degree (for instructor) or doctorate (for lecturer) in Computer Science or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution by the start of the appointment.

For the associate lecturer, a doctorate in Computer Science or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution and five years of experience as associate lecturer or equivalent at a four-year institution are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

College-level teaching experience is highly preferred for all ranks.
