The University of Maine Farmington is seeking applicants for a two-year position of Postdoctoral Fellow for Public Humanities.

This position will include a half-time teaching load (3 courses per year) in public humanities and the fellow’s area of expertise, and assistant-directorship of the New Commons Project, a public humanities initiative funded by a grant from the Mellon Foundation (more information at http://www.newcommonsproject.org). This is an academic-year position. The fellow will have extensive project-management responsibilities, including event planning, outreach, and coordination. Start date August 31, 2020.

This position reports to the chair of the division.

Qualifications:

Required: PhD in a humanities discipline (degree in hand preferred; ABD considered); college teaching experience; active research agenda; significant project management and public humanities experience; evidence of excellence in teaching (examples: portfolio samples or teaching evaluations, etc.).
