At least two years of research is expected. Computational skills and a background in analyses of ECG waveforms is also required.
The individual in this position will have a mentor. The individual will assist a faculty member in full time research while preparing for a research career. Participation will be at all phases of experimental planning, data analysis, and manuscript publication for studies outlined in current NIH funding.
The successful candidate will analyze electrocardiograms and other cardiophysiological endpoints for adverse effects of tobacco products and novel indices that predict arrhythmia and pathologic outcomes. The candidate will learn how to develop and apply machine learning algorithms to physiological waveforms (e.g., ECGs) in order to identify new endpoints that presage cardiac rhythm disruption. Additionally, the candidate will assist faculty in coordinating data analyses and lab activities among trainees and staff.
