We are seeking a post-doctoral fellow with a background in battery materials to help us unlock the potential of novel missile and military battery technologies. Examples include but are not limited to inventing new materials and processes that improve the performance of molten-salt batteries.

As a post-doctoral fellow in Electrochemistry and Thermal Battery, you will support ongoing research projects as well as pursue new creative research efforts in areas such as energetic materials. This fellowship is for a one-year term, renewable for the second year upon the successful completion of the first year. Your duties include,
Providing support for research projects in molten-salt thermal battery materials and pyrotechnics.
Performing innovative research in energetic materials.
Developing proposals, preparing technical reports, and communicating your research in peer-reviewed journals.
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you,
Have a PhD. degree in chemistry, materials science and engineering, or a related discipline.
Have expertise in synthesis and characterization of battery materials.
Have a solid understanding of electrochemistry.
Have a strong track record of innovative research and publication.
Are a reliable teammate and have excellent communication skills.
Are willing and able to travel occasionally to attend meetings with sponsors and academic conferences.
Are able to obtain a Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you,
Have 2+ years experience fabricating and characterizing molten-salt batteries.
Have research experience and knowledge of thermal battery technology.
Have experience with reactive materials and/or pyrotechnics.
