About Northeastern:

Founded in 1898, Northeastern is a global research university and a world leader in experiential learning. The same commitment to connecting with the world drives our use-inspired research enterprise. The university offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate and graduate programs leading to degrees through the doctorate in nine colleges and schools. Our campuses in Charlotte, N.C., San Francisco, Seattle, and Toronto are regional platforms for undergraduate and graduate learning and collaborative research. Northeastern pursues advanced research in security and materials at the Innovation Campus in Burlington, Massachusetts, and in coastal sustainability at the Marine Science Center in Nahant, Massachusetts.

About the Opportunity:

In late 2018, the Northeastern Center for Entrepreneurship Education (NUCEE) initiated the Mosaic Fellowship. The Mosaic Fellowship is a one-year position designed to address the then current needs of Mosaic and the student-led Mosaic Groups in Northeastern’s entrepreneurship ecosystem. The Mosaic Fellows will support the experiential programming that is the distinguishing characteristic of Northeastern University’s entrepreneurship ecosystem. The Mosaic Fellowship is ideal for a recent undergraduate or graduate alum with experience in Northeastern’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The Mosaic Fellowship emphasizes listening to and providing for the needs of the community, and therefore each Mosaic Fellowship will begin with a specific focus and will seek candidates with the skills and interests relevant to that focus. It’s also important for the Mosaic Fellow to be able to work independently and across disciplines within the University. The Mosaic Fellowship beginning in September 2019 will focus on community building, marketing, brand and program development.

Responsibilities:

Community Building |

●          Monitor digital communities for Mosaic students, alums, and advisors, including Slack™ workspaces, Facebook groups, and various other software.

●          Plan and execute on events that support the extended Mosaic community of student and alum builders and leaders.

○          A “kickoff” event each semester for current students.

○          An “end of year” event in April that celebrates the community and sends off the graduating seniors.

○          Support the development of quarterly events in San Francisco, New York, and Boston for Mosaic alumni and the larger Northeastern entrepreneurial alumni network.

●          Support systems for onboarding new students to Mosaic

●          Support initiatives to acquire space on campus for Mosaic activities

  Marketing + Brand Development |

●          Build external and internal partnerships for the Mosaic program by representing the Mosaic community at various functions, including potential donor meetings, meetings amongst the Mosaic Advisory Council, and events hosted by groups in the Boston entrepreneurship community.

●          Maintain and build the Mosaic website, including encouraging the use of the Mosaic calendar, building out new pages and features (e.g. alumni reengagement portal, stories highlighting members of the community, shared resources for the community, etc.).

●          Communicate on behalf of Mosaic, including the ownership of Mosaic’s email address, internal newsletters to Mosaic’s stakeholders, and creation + distribution of marketing materials for various Mosaic functions.

Program Development |

●          Overseeing and managing the launch of the “Mosaic Leadership Institute”, including coordinating monthly programming involving both current students, alums, and industry “thought leaders” on topics of leadership and management.

●          Lead secondary research on leadership programs, curriculum, and pedagogy and benchmark their models to inform the design of Mosaic’s leadership program.

Qualifications:

●          The Mosaic Fellow must have a Bachelor’s degree. Experience as a member of a Mosaic organization or working on a startup is strongly preferred.

●          The Mosaic Fellow must exhibit a strong interest in fostering entrepreneurship and innovation.

●          The Mosaic Fellow should have a strong academic record and employment experience.

●          The Mosaic Fellow must have strong organizational and communication skills allowing them to work independently and across various disciplines within the University.
