Quinnipiac University (QU) seeks a visionary and energetic dean of the School of Health Sciences (SHS) who will guide the school to meet changing health care education needs and expand on their current health sciences programs. This dean oversees the school's operations and the strategic allocation of resources to ensure the continued excellence of SHS faculty, staff, and programs. The dean has oversight for strategic planning, budgeting, development and enhancement initiatives. In addition, the dean is responsible for the day-to-day management of faculty, staff and students and for creating innovative opportunities to ensure the development and progression of student educational experiences. This individual must be committed to promoting and fostering excellence in teaching, research, professional practice and service. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a leader with prior administrative experience to build and expand the current health sciences programs, especially in light of the arrival of a new President for QU, Dr. Judy Olian.
About the School/Program:
The School of Health Sciences is the largest school at Quinnipiac by enrollment and houses programs in biomedical sciences and health sciences. The SHS offers a compelling array of comprehensive career-oriented programs of study, including undergraduate majors, online degree completion, combined undergraduate and graduate programs, master's degrees, and clinical doctorates. Operations for the SHS bridge the campuses at Mount Carmel at the base of the Sleeping Giant State Park as well as that in North Haven, Connecticut where the medicine, nursing, law, education, and the health sciences schools reside. The new dean will be responsible for inclusive leadership across these two campuses. Our campuses boast state-of-the-art facilities and equipment designed for collaborative learning for all health care students. The school currently has 100 full-time faculty and approximately 1,860 undergraduate and 716 graduate students.

A thorough and insightful understanding of how projected changes in health care, the labor market, and higher education, as well as the growing national emphasis on translational research, will impact the educational needs of the students and graduates of a School of Health Sciences.
Documented experience in conducting assessment and using both quantitative and qualitative assessment data to improve learning and operational effectiveness.
Experience in the conduct, promotion or evaluation of research or scholarship, and/or an external record of public or professional leadership and advocacy in the health sciences or health professions.
Proficiency in accreditation processes relevant to SHS programs.
Experience in fundraising, alumni relations, and development activities
An advanced degree in a relevant field (required)
