Join an interdisciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, and Laboratory Scientists

dedicated to advancing trauma-informed knowledge and clinical interventions.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will initiate and conduct experiments for testing candidate therapeutic

agents for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) using behavioral screening assays.

Qualifications:
• Doctoral Degree in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, or a related field


Skills:

  • Assists in designing, developing, executing, and implementing scientific experiments

related to drug development in a non-mammalian model

  • Performs laboratory research utilizing experimental protocols which will involve

specialized procedures such as exposure of zebrafish larvae to a stimulus, measurement
of response using behavioral recording equipment and software, and testing of medicinal
compounds for ability to modify response to stimuli

  • Participates in planning and conducting analyses of data from zebrafish experiments

  • Assists with the preparation of data for presentations at scientific meetings, publication in

scientific journals, and grant applications


The Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress, directed by Robert J. Ursano, M.D., is internationally

recognized for cutting edge research, education, and consultation on the psychological and behavioral
effects of trauma and disaster on individuals, families, communities, and the workplace.

The Center is part of the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine
