Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow for the Department of Pediatrics Hematology/Oncology at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.

The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Appointee position is to conduct research investigation into elucidating the basic molecular mechanisms that underlie the pathogenesis of adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma and Fanconi anemia under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Performs research, experiments, and laboratory techniques of a specialized nature under direct supervision of the Principal Investigator.

  • Drafts written reports for inclusion in manuscripts and grant proposals.

  • Gives oral presentations of the research.

  • Understands and adheres to Rutgers’ compliance standards as they appear in RBHS’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Ph.D. and/or M.D. in a relevant science finishing their training (following their residency and/or fellowship) who wish to prepare for careers in academic medicine.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in cancer biology research.
