A Postdoctoral position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Rajatava Basu for a highly motivated individual who is interested to work on understanding the molecular regulation of CD4 T cell differentiation, with a specific focus on understanding how different cytokine and non-cytokine signals drive transcriptional programs of various transcription factors to govern the differentiation and plasticity of T helper cells, specifically with respect to intestinal inflammation (Immunity. 2012 Dec 14; 37(6):1061-75; Immunol Rev. 2013 Mar;252(1):89-103; Nat Immunol. 2015 Mar;16(3):286-95). The major focus of the lab is in the area of cellular and molecular mechanisms controlling CD4 T cell-mediated immune regulation during autoimmune inflammation with a specific focus on understanding pathogen-mediated dysregulated host immune response in intestinal bowel disease (https://www.uab.edu/medicine/pathology/faculty).
Applicants must have a PhD, MD or MD/PhD with a background in immunology and experience in advanced cellular and molecular immunology techniques. Familiarity with large scale high through put data generation and analysis (RNA-Seq. ChIP-Seq etc.) would be preferred.
Candidates should be capable of designing and carrying out high level, complex research experiments.
