Applications are sought for a Postdoctoral Associate or Staff Scientist position in Prof. Weihang Chai’s lab at the Department of Cancer Biology, Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center, Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. The Chai lab studies the molecular mechanism governing genome stability and telomere maintenance using molecular biology, cellular imaging, genomics, and animal model approaches. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct original research to study the molecular mechanism underlying genome instability. The successful candidate will be expected to publish research results in peer reviewed journals and present at national meetings. The Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine is conveniently located at Maywood, IL, 16 mi west of downtown Chicago. It is close to western suburbs of Chicago that offer several nationally recognized school districts and excellent environment for raising families.

Qualifications

Required qualifications: Ph.D. in biochemistry, cell or molecular biology, or other discipline related to the molecular biosciences; prior research experience with DNA damage repair or DNA replication is preferred but not required; and a publication record consistent with background; strong communication skills, both orally and written.
