The Department of Biosystems & Agricultural Engineering recently received a grant from the US Department of Agriculture to conduct applied research and extension projects on innovative technologies to conserve water in flood (gravity) irrigation systems. The requested postdoctoral fellow position will play a major role in developing and managing this project. This is a 11 month appointment for a project duration of 2 years.

  • This is an exempt position (which indicates that the position is exempt from overtime pay/comp time accrual). According to OSU policy, a 40-hour workweek is considered minimal for exempt staff and you are expected to work hours in excess of 40 hours per week when the work load requires additional hours (to include some early mornings, evenings and/or weekends). In-state and out of state travel required.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required: Ph.D. / Ed.D. in agricultural engineering, biosystems engineering, civil engineering, plant and/or soil science, or closely related.

Valid Driver's License

Knowledge and experience in irrigated agriculture, especially flood (gravity) irrigation systems. Experience with managing and conducting fieldwork. Proven record of publishing peer-reviewed journal manuscripts and extension fact-sheets. Ability to coordinate a multi-state project with researchers, collaborating producers, and industry partners from four states.

Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
