As as Postdoctoral Research Scholar, this position is expected to generate peer reviewed publications in prestigious scientific journals, to serve as co-principal investigator on future proposals, and to assist with leading the research efforts on multiple NC Clean Water Management Trust Fund projects on the performance of various stormwater practices. Periodic field campaigns will require overnight travel. Travel budget and computer provided.

Other Work/Responsibilities

This research scholar position will be expected to manage large data sets from multiple sources and systems. This position will have the opportunity to supervise students and technicians working on the projects.

 

Minimum Experience/Education

Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., M.D., D.V.M., Sc.D.) in appropriate field awarded no more than five (5) years from initial date of postdoctoral appointment.

 

Departmental Required Skills
  • PhD in Civil Engineering, Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related fields.

  • Strong background in field monitoring, modeling, statistics, hydrology, and stormwater management/green infrastructure.

  • Excellent oral, analytical, and writing skills.

  • Ability to operate and adjust various farm machinery and agricultural implements.

Required License or Certification

This position will need to travel to remote locations and will require a valid driver’s license to be obtained within 60 days of hire to access remote locations relevant to the needs of the projects.
