A postdoctoral position is available immediately to join our project focused on assessing the contribution of oxidative damage and mitochondrial dysregulation in retinal degenerative diseases including age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.  The study will use both cell culture and animal disease models.  Support facilities and research environment at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine are outstanding.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will hold a PhD degree in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences or related field.  Applicants with a strong background in oxidative stress/mitochondrial dynamics, cell biology and molecular biology are welcome to apply.  Applicants should demonstrate past research productivity with preference given to candidates with experience in oxidative stress/mitochondrial dynamics and respirometry.
