Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Physics and Astronomy within Iowa State University is searching for a qualified Postdoctoral Research Associate.

This position will perform research in the area of theoretical calculations of novel magnetic materials with focus on materials discovery and materials informatics.

Required Education and Experience

Ph.D. must be completed prior to start date.

Ph. D. in condensed matter physics, materials science or related areas.

Preferred Education and Experience

First principles density functional calculations and molecular dynamics simulations.

Magnetic properties and thermodynamics calculations.

Algorithms for global structural optimization.

Database design and construction for machine learning applications.

Coding expertise.

Good writing and communication skills.
