The Department of Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham seeks a motivated Postdoctoral Trainee to join the team of Dr. George Yang from Stanford. This particular lab will conduct research on regenerative medicine with a focus on bone and skin. Candidate must have graduated with a degree in Biology, or possess comparable knowledge of developmental, molecular and cellular biology. Experience with mammalian models of human disease, histology, basic cell and molecular biology techniques, and cell culture with a focus on musculoskeletal and skin tissues is ideal. Individuals will be expected to evaluate current literature, plan and execute experiments, and prepare abstracts and manuscripts. They will also be expected to present data at national meetings. In addition to critical thinking skills, they are required to collaborate with other laboratory personnel to ensure good communications among laboratory members.
PhD in Molecular biology or biology
Prior experience with mammalian models of human disease, histology preferred.
Experience with evaluating literature, preparing abstracts and manuscripts.
Candidate with good communication skills with the ability to work on a team.
