Job Description Perform molecular dynamics studies on protein targets to understand the dynamic variability of their ligand binding pockets to enable design of specific and selective inhibitors.
Search conformational space of proteins to Identify novel allosteric (cryptic) pockets and perform virtual screening against the cryptic pockets to generate novel hits and to build binding hypothesis for experimental hits.
Implement and compare different methods and simulation protocols for calculating binding free energy differences of ligands. These methods and protocols will be applied on one class of protein targets with many crystal structures and inhibition data. Subsequently, the general applicability of the methods will be tested on other classes of targets.
The preferred candidate would have demonstrated expertise in several of the following skills: 

• Molecular Dynamics and Free Energy simulations of receptor-ligand complexes 
• Potential of mean force (PMF)calculations 
• Programming and scripting skills to analyze MD trajectory data 
• Sound knowledge of protein crystal structures and conformations
