Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Science

The University of Sioux Falls invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, assistant or associate professor position to begin the fall of 2018 in the discipline of Computer Science. Rank and salary are commensurate with education and experience; benefits are included. Applications will be reviewed immediately; however, applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in computer science, computer information systems, or a closely related field. (An earned doctorate is strongly preferred and is required for tenure.) The successful candidate will have ability to teach a broad range of undergraduate computer science courses in areas, such as operating systems, programming languages, systems analysis, database management, and networking. Preference will be given to candidates with background in one or more of the following areas: data science, machine learning, software engineering, web/mobile development, game development and cyber security. Additionally, the candidate will have the opportunity to help direct the future of a small but vibrant computer science program.
Responsibilities for this faculty position include teaching all levels of undergraduate computer science courses with opportunities for additional courses in mathematics and/or statistics commensurate with the candidate's abilities; reviewing, assessing, administering and periodically revising the Computer Science Major; assisting with coordination of the mathematics and computer science programs; maintaining professional scholarship; advising students; participating in the life of the university and community and collaborating with existing faculty members.
Successful candidates should be committed to academic excellence in a Christian liberal arts environment and to the integration of faith and learning. Superior teaching, desire to engage in undergraduate student research, and a heart for mentorship are highly valued.
