Position Summary

Assists the Dean with the leadership of the Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences, School of Applied Health Sciences programs through effective planning and resource management in order to maximize program outcomes and contributions to overall organizational performance.  Establishes and monitors implementation of policies and procedures for assigned areas as necessary for effective learning/teaching, curriculum development and student success.  This position will work on University initiatives for promoting a healthy campus and continue to help create collaborative interdisciplinary campus relationships and secure industry partnerships as they related to opportunities for faculty, students and programs related to the BRCHS SAHS mission.

Prerequisites Required For Position

  • Earned doctorate in the professional or related discipline of the School of Applied Health Sciences, Full and tenured professor.

  • Productive research career, evidence of peer reviewed publication and national reputation in field.

  • Evidence of ability to build industry partnerships.

  • Evidence of grantsmanship and grant management.

  • Proficiency in applying advanced concepts, principles, and techniques of learning theories, educational practices and procedures.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn how to develop, manage, promote and evaluate academic/educational programs and staff.

  • Demonstrated professionalism

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty and senior leadership Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong background in higher education, including experience gained within a university, preferably in healthcare sciences education

  • Familiarity with the Jacksonville and surrounding communities

  • Civic minded

  • Demonstrated success and experience with student outcomes

  • Successful track record as a leader who can inspire and encourage entrepreneurial thought process and implement action plans

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty and senior leadership

  • A record of solid performance of collaborative and innovative approaches to achieve goals
