We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to participate in an NIH-funded study of vergence eye movements in alert, trained non-human primates. The primary role of the position will be to perform single- and multi-electrode electrophysiological studies of both established and novel subcortical and cortical regions involved in the neural control of vergence eye movements.  In addition, the fellow can assist with pathway tracing experiments using both “classical” and transneuronal techniques.  The fellow will have responsibility for all aspects of the project from data collection and analysis to preparation of scientific publications. Candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent in a Neuroscience-related field.  Experience with in vivo electrophysiological techniques is highly desirable. Salary is commensurate with experience and NIH guidelines.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is one of America’s premier research universities, ranking among the top 25 in funding from the National Institutes of Health.
