JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Bill and Vieve Gore School of Business at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah invites applications for Assistant or Associate Professor of Accounting.  The successful candidate will have degrees, expertise and/or professional experience in accounting.  Beyond teaching, other responsibilities include scholarly research, advising students, and engaging in service for the school and college. 
 
We seek candidates who are committed to quality teaching in a learning-focused environment, active in research and publishing, and professionally engaged. The teaching load for this full-time position is 18 credit hours per year (assuming Scholarly Academic qualification, per AACSB), to include both undergraduate and graduate courses.  Salaries and benefits, including tuition remission, are competitive.  The starting date is fall semester, 2017.
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD in accounting, or a doctoral degree in a related field with a master's degree in accounting.
  • ABD's may apply but must show evidence that the degree will be completed by the time of appointment.
  • Excellence in teaching and readiness to work with a diverse student body.
  • Ability to work one-on-one with students and provide value-added feedback and support.
  • Research potential, as evidenced by journal publications and a strong research agenda for sustained publications in peer-reviewed journals.  Must currently be qualified as Scholarly Academic per AACSB.
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant business and professional experience is strongly preferred.

The Bill and Vieve Gore School of Business was founded in 1987 and offers nine undergraduate programs and three graduate programs.  The school is accredited by ACBSP and is also pursuing AACSB accreditation.
