Postdoctoral Position Available

Postdoctoral position funded through a T32 training grant is currently available to trainees who have received doctoral degrees and wish to pursue careers in clinical and translational research in rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases research.

Broad research areas include studying the reasons behind the decline in skeletal muscle function and physical activity in patients with rheumatic diseases; and examining the molecular pathways that contribute to increased cardiovascular disease risk in RA patients. We have ongoing clinical and translational research focused on understanding at a mechanistic level the metabolic and physiologic abnormalities of skeletal muscle in RA patients. We are investigating if insulin resistance is an underlying cause of skeletal muscle dysfunction in RA patients by conducting clinical trials utilizing pharmacotherapy, as well as diet and exercise interventions.
