Mentor: Dr. Ralph D. Sanderson, Professor of Pathology, University of Alabama at Birmingham Email:firstname.lastname@example.org
Postdoctoral Position Available
A postdoctoral position is available for an aggressive and productive scientist that can plan, coordinate and execute research related to determining the role of the heparan sulfate degrading enzyme heparanase in promoting the progression of multiple myeloma. Ongoing studies include: (i) determining the impact of heparanase on exosome biogenesis and function, (ii) understanding the role of heparanase in promoting tumor chemoresistance and (iii) developing heparanase inhibitors for anti-cancer therapy.
Candidates should have a firm knowledge of molecular and cellular biology and demonstrated experience in data collection and analysis and communication of results in oral and written form. In addition, the candidate should have a strong interest in developing skills related to studying cancer biology and anti-cancer drugs. The Sanderson Lab has been continuously funded by the NIH since 1992 and is currently funded by the NIH, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the United States – Israel Binational Science Foundation.
